Nora…
loves to play with my phone, and it is hilarious to listen to her have a “conversation.” What is NOT so hilarious is that she finally, after all this time of playing with my phone, really made a call. Fortunately, it was to Travis. He was on a church retreat and I got a text out of nowhere asking me if I needed something. It didn’t take me long to figure out what had happened!
is getting more and more interested in books as she watches her sisters. She brings me books to read to her and is actually sitting to listen to most of the shorter ones. It has been fun to watch her pick books that are her favorites, some that were also favorites of Mary and Elise and others that are her own.

knows several new words (dog, down, kitty, toes, door, banana (”nana”) and animal sounds (dog, snake, kitty, duck, pig) and can show you her tongue, ears, and belly button, but will poke YOUR eyes out when you ask her to show you her eyes.
loves to brush her teeth…several times a day.
Mary…
has a new favorite song to sing…”I’ve been working on the railroad”…the “fee-fi-fiddly-i-o” part, especially.
Elise…
did end up getting sick with the other two girls a few weeks ago, just like she’d hoped! She got to have her fill of medicine and movies and lying around on the couch feeling icky, so I hope she understands now that it’s no fun to be sick, even though you get to have colorful, sugary medicine.
Mary and Elise…
got their AWANA vests and have already earned two patches! I will post an updated “vest pic” sometime after they get more patches.
went as “the heavens” and “the earth” to their AWANA “trunk or treat” on Sunday. They were to dress as something or someone from the Bible. We took Genesis 1:1, “…God created the heavens and the earth,” and went from there. The girls helped paint planets and big bugs made from styrofoam, and they also helped glue everything on. Nora was going to be a dog (because, as you know, God created dogs, too!), but that lasted about 5 minutes. She wore bunny ears instead!

picked out their own new footie jammies this weekend, thanks to Daddy. They were pretty excited to have jammies like Nora’s. I am just thankful they don’t ever wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Of course, the first time they do, they will be wearing these jammies. And I am going to make Travis help them in the bathroom!

Oh, and all that hair? It’s coming off on Thursday…ack!! This has been a long time coming. Their hair is so pretty and long, but we are all ready for a little break from the brushing and tangles and maintenance and hair in the face and food in the hair. And I am not too good at fixing their hair nicely every day, so most days it just looks plain messy. They both tell me they want their hair short like daddy’s. We’re going to one of those fun kids’ haircut places, and I am pretty sure I am not going to pay them to just buzz their heads…I would just do that myself! I am pretty excited to see what they’ll look like with shorter hair, and they are excited, too. For a sneak peek, look back at the AWANA picture. If you didn’t notice it already, it looks like Elise’s hair is short in that picture. It sure made me look twice! Anyway, I will be sad to see the long hair go, but I am excited about all the time we’ll save not brushing so much hair, all the tears that won’t be shed over tangles, and all the money we’ll save on shampoo. Ha!
