The girls LOVE to read books.  I am looking forward to my family coming to visit this week for many reasons.  One of them is that I will hopefully get a break from reading the same book 17,000 times a day!  We read many books during the day, but at night there is a favorite…Morris Goes to School.  This was a favorite book of mine growing up, so when I saw it in a thrift store many months ago, I picked it up in the hopes that the girls would like it one day as much as I did.  Well, they do.  Especially Elise.  So every night we read this book.  It is fairly long, so we don’t always make it all the way through.  But it has been interesting to see that as the girls get older, they pay attention longer and longer.

As frustrating as it is to read the same book over and over and over again, and even though sometimes I try to hide when Elise picks up a book and then looks over at me and then starts walking toward me, I try to remember that  one day they won’t want me to read to them anymore.  So I try to enjoy these days as much as I can!

Ask the Experts

M&E have their thinking caps on (i.e. pajama pants on the head) and are ready to answer your most burning questions. Don’t let E’s scowl fool you. She woke up on the wrong side of the crib, but I am confident her answers won’t disappoint you.

E, where is your nose?

OK, thanks. Now please don’t try to find my nose! (Beware asking her to do this…she WILL stick her finger up your nose.)

M, where are your eyes?

Good job actually closing your eyes this time! Last time I think you scratched up your eyeball. (Again, beware, she WILL poke your eyes out if you ask her to find YOUR eyes…and her nails grow crazy fast. Ouch!)

OK, E, where is your ear?

Good job, baby girl!

Now M, where are your teeny tiny toes (M has really small feet…no idea where she got that…ha!)

m toes.jpg

Yep, there they are!

And E, where are your fingers?

(E is wiggling her fingers)

Glad to see you’re in a better mood now!

Sundays

Sundays are soooooo exhausting.  We skip our morning nap, go to church for two hours and play, and then Mommy and Daddy usually drag us somewhere to eat lunch afterwards.  This past Sunday, we just couldn’t keep our eyes open for the ten-minute drive home.

Little chicken legs for little girls…

When I first gave them these little drumettes to gnaw on, they weren’t too sure about it.  A quick demonstration was all it took and then I couldn’t get them away.  We had to remind them that they had a whole meal in front of them, and most of the chicken had already been pulled off the bone.  Chicken just got a lot more exciting in this house.  Wait till they get a BIG drumstick!
