Busy Days
Well, I finally got to the vacation post. Not very detailed, but it’s all I can do…it was bad enough that it took me two sessions to finish it! It took so long because we have been quite busy (more so than normal) these last few days since we’ve been home. Not only am I trying to unpack, but also I am getting the house semi-ready for Mom and Roger, who are due to arrive tonight, on their way home from their honeymoon in Gatlinburg. We are looking forward to their visit, and I know they’re excited to be able to spend more time with their grandchildren than they were able to in Houma.
We also had our sixth month checkup today, and the girls are just plugging along great! Here are the stats: Elise is 25 3/4 inches long and weighs 13 lbs. 15 oz. Mary is 24 1/2 incles long and weighs 12 lbs. They are both still showing outstanding growth. We are also hopeful that Mary will be able to come off her apnea/heart rate monitor soon. (Elise came off hers at four months.)
SIX MONTHS…WOW! Mary and Elise have changed so much. Something new happened the other day…in the van on the way to Houma, in fact…Mary laughed. Hard. It was the sweetest sound! I was in the back playing with them, and Mary was chewing on her bear blanket. When she opened her mouth to bite on it, I made a chomping sound and got a little giggle. When she went for it again, I made the same noise and got a bigger giggle. It escalated from there until she was belly laughing every time I made the noise, and I was rolling in the back seat. It was so cute! She still laughs at that noise, but I’ve only been able to get her really going maybe once or twice after that. It will be something when they are both cracking up at the same time. We’ll have to get that on video!
